Pushing Limits in Sending Large-Volume Documents over the Internet

One of the challenges of today´s email traffic is the handling of a substantial increase in file size of documents which are sent over the internet. Depending on firm policy and email service provider it is quite common that a transfer of attachments exceeding 10-12MB is not possible. This leaves the sender with the choice to compress file attachments or to slice files into smaller packages which are sent in sequence. Both are usually quite cumbersome procedures and do take time and effort. In the case of applying compression software on the sender side, the same software would subsequently be required on the recipient side to unbundle the respective document. – Or, the sender might simply choose the “old way” in sending a large-size document via postal services …
