WOLF, the largest supplier of kitchen cabinets in the U.S. and a leading provider of building products along the East Coast, has announced the launch of WOLF™ Classic Cabinets. The cabinets are now available exclusively to independent dealers in WOLF’s territory in 18 eastern states — with delivery in one week or less.
The new line of kitchen cabinets, made in the United States from hand-selected American maple, was created to offer higher quality and faster delivery than cabinets built overseas — and offered at a price point that will meet or beat imported cabinets in the same category.
WOLF Classic Cabinets, available in eight popular door style and finish combinations, offer features unavailable in comparably priced products:
• Durable plywood construction: Full 1/2” side and back plywood panels and 3/4” plywood shelves
• Dovetail drawer construction
• High-quality components: 3/4” solid wood corner blocks – not the CAMs, brackets and clips commonly found on imports
• Solid maple: Real American maple doors and drawer-fronts
• No upcharge for painted doors: WOLF offers upscale painted doors at the same price as stained doors
• Next-truck delivery: Cabinets arrive in one week or less, with a customer’s next scheduled delivery, in all 18 states WOLF serves
The market-driven attributes of WOLF Classic Cabinets were developed through a series of advisory meetings with dealers, said Barry Graboski, WOLF’s senior VP of product development for kitchen and bath.
WOLF customers identified a significant need for a cabinet line at a price point currently dominated by foreign-made cabinets. During advisory sessions, dealers noted that overseas products present problems like long lead times, difficulty ordering parts, and shortcuts in design and craftsmanship.
“By collaborating with our customers, WOLF was able to design a cabinetry line built to capture market share,” Graboski said. “The dealers who helped create WOLF Classic Cabinets tell us the line will enable them to compete – very favorably – against the imports that currently crowd the category.”
In fact, the overwhelmingly positive response from dealers who participated in a trial rollout in select markets convinced WOLF to accelerate its production schedule for WOLF Classic Cabinets. Michael Liberman, president of Economy Supply in Harrison, N.J., carried the line during the pre-launch phase. Based on that experience, he believes WOLF Classic Cabinets “are going to knock out the imports.”
WOLF’s Classic Cabinets line will serve customers needing large quantities for multi-family projects and provide an excellent a solution for the price-sensitive kitchen-at-a-time business. The new line also enables WOLF to offer a wide selection of stock and semi-custom brands to meet the needs of customers across a broad spectrum of price points and styles.
WOLF developed the Classic Cabinets line as part of a major strategic shift that began in 2010, when WOLF embraced an innovative new business model. The company, once a traditional two-step distributor, has positioned itself as a sourcing company that focuses on identifying or developing products designed solely to meet the needs of independent dealers.
Today, WOLF develops products and programs that enable 3,000 pro dealers across 18 East Coast states to differentiate themselves from big-box competitors.
